Here are some great affordable wines that we love!
Le Petit Berticot Sauvignon Blanc
This is an excellent example of Sauvignon Blanc as a varietal. We find exotic notes of citrus fruits but also a sensation of freshness due to the low alcohol content and a nice acidity.
Domaine Menard Cuvee Marine – $16.95
2015 Cotes de Gascogne – a lively, crisp and fresh blend of Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc and Gros Manseng. It is brimming with flavours of peaches, mango and pink grapefruit.
Chateau du Gaudou Exception Malbec – $13.95
From the original home of Malbec comes this supple, round and inviting red. Warm spice, dark fruit and a savoury finish all for a fantastic price.
Laya Red – $14.95
Rated as one of the top value wines in the Calgary Herald this month! This wine is a blend of Garnacha Tintorera (sometimes known as Alicante Bouschet) and 25% Monastrell. Wonderful flavours of cherries and raspberries, with a touch of plum and licorice.
Stickleback Red – $17.95
Stickleback Red is a great wine from Down Under made by Heartland Wines, a collaboration formed in 2001 to create premium Australian wines from the Limestone Coast and Langhorne Creek. This is a medium-bodied blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Dolcetto. It offers flavors of ripe red fruit, blackberries, eucalyptus and spicy oak.
