It’s no surprise that the beer scene in Alberta is exploding at the moment, but did you know there are currently 54 different brewing licences in the province? In Calgary alone we have 17 open and operating, with another 20 coming soon! Although most breweries only offer their beer in taprooms or in keg, there are a number who are putting product into can or bottle for wider distribution. Here are a few that are currently available at Silver Springs: Half Hitch, Citizen, Tool Shed, Common Crown, Six Corners, Dandy and Caravel. Some other long-standing pillars of the Calgary brewing culture include Brewsters, Big Rock and Wild Rose. With such local variety suddenly at our fingertips, the choice of what beer to reach for has become increasingly tricky. Luckily, a large assortment of styles and character will keep you anything but bored when tasting what Alberta has to offer.

Cheers!
